Hospitality NL Announces 2020 Keynote Speaker for Upcoming Conference & Trade Show in Corner Brook

For Immediate Release

January 28, 2020 – Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador is pleased to announce Tony Chapman, a celebrated keynote speaker, moderator, media personality and consultant who draws upon his three decades of experience as a consumer expert and business strategist, as the keynote speaker for it’s 2020 Conference & Trade Show. Tony will engage tourism operators from across the province with his session “Drive Growth and Profitability by Engaging in the Experience Economy“.

Hospitality NL will host its upcoming Conference and Trade Show in Corner Brook, February 25-27th, 2020. The keynote session is sponsored by Marine Atlantic Inc.

A relevant and significant topic echoed throughout today’s tourism world, this session revolves around why tourism and hospitality must shift from being a place to (visit, eat, or see) to being a place to be. In this session, Tony will address the “platform economy” to show what tourism operators can do to adapt to “disruptors”, stay relevant, and give visitors the true essence of Newfoundland and Labrador. Drawing upon case studies from around the world, Tony aims to encourage ‘bricks and mortar’ tourism based businesses to shift from a place to see, eat or visit, to one that also offers personal experiences that are value-based, emotive and trans-formative.

“As a tourism industry, we always aim to provide authentic experiences” says Hospitality NL Chair, Larry Laite. “Drawing on his expertise to develop and enhance the visitor experience, I think it will be very exciting to see Mr. Chapman take the stage and inspire our province’s tourism operators to adapt their tourism strategies and provide more authentic activities, events and environments in order to attract potential visitors.”

Hospitality NL’s 2020 Conference and Trade Show will feature an exciting line-up of sessions and events, a supplier-focused trade show and exclusive learning and networking opportunities for all tourism stakeholders in attendance. Our host city this year is Corner Brook, an essential hub of tourism for Newfoundland and Labrador. Showcasing one of the best outdoor environments the nation has to offer, Corner Brook is a key anchor for winter tourism experiences with it’s remarkable landscapes – giving visitors the opportunity to try their hand at skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling, to name a few. Our province’s west coast gives us an endless playground for tourism, and should surprise no one as this year’s choice.

In addition to the invaluable connections to be made with fellow tourism operators and leaders, the event features Hospitality NL’s Annual General Meeting, partner luncheons, local fun night at Marble Mountain and, of course, the Tourism Excellence Awards Gala recognizing some of our industry’s most innovative and talented people!

Hospitality NL’s Conference and Trade Show is the largest annual gathering of tourism operators within the province and is taking place in Corner Brook, February 25-27, 2020. Register today!
