For Immediate Release
February 21, 2018 – Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador is excited to kick off its Annual Conference and Trade Show today with tourism development leader, Doug Lansky, delivering the keynote address to delegates. The Conference, taking place in St. John’s from February 20-22, will provide a platform for tourism leaders and stakeholders to gather and explore new opportunities within the province’s thriving tourism industry.
“The travel and tourism industry is in a constant state of transition, driving industry operators to continuously work on developing or enhancing their tourism product or experience,” says Hospitality NL Chair, Dion Finlay. “We are excited to have Mr. Lansky with us throughout the Conference to lead the discussion on experience development and help operators discover new ways of adapting their tourism strategy by putting the visitor at the core of the experience, and tapping in to their most valuable resource: their fellow tourism colleagues.”
Following the keynote address, Doug will be joined on stage by a panel of industry champions to further explore the best practices of experience development. The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will address delegates at the Provincial Tourism Luncheon and present the Cultural Tourism and Tourism Achievement Awards. An afternoon session will feature the results of the 2016 Provincial Exit Survey presented by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation.
To cap off the day, Destination St. John’s has planned an exciting evening of great food and music at O’Reilly’s Irish Newfoundland Pub!
Due to the strong support of the local tourism industry, Hospitality NL’s Conference has sold out! In 2018, Hospitality NL celebrates 35 years of serving as the voice of tourism in Newfoundland and Labrador and working with the members to build amazing industry growth and progress.
