Meet Our New Tourism Industry Engagement Coordinator

We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our team, Kaitlin Ash, who joins us as our Tourism Industry Engagement Coordinator. Kaitlin brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to her role, and she is dedicated to supporting Short Term Rental Accommodations providers throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

If you operate a short term rental accommodation or campground, it’s essential to be aware of the registration requirements set forth by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, and Recreation. Short term rentals encompass a variety of accommodations, including apartments, bed and breakfasts, hotels, campgrounds, and more, providing lodging for 30 days or less.

To ensure compliance with provincial regulations, all operators must register their accommodations by March 31st, 2024. This one-time process is mandatory for all tourist accommodations operating in the province and comes at no cost. By registering, you attest to having the necessary licenses and permits and agree to observe all relevant municipal, provincial, and federal laws.

Kaitlin will be available to guide you through the registration process, answer any questions you may have, and provide support as you navigate the tourism industry landscape. Don’t hesitate to reach out to her for assistance or clarification on any matter related to your accommodation business.

We are excited about this opportunity to strengthen our partnership with you and ensure the continued success of the tourism sector in Newfoundland and Labrador. Together, let’s make our province a premier destination for travelers near and far.
