    Dear Minister,

    I am writing you today to impress upon you the urgency that the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador needs immediate action on regulating unlicensed accommodations within the province to ensure the long-term sustainability and profitably of our sector. Tourism is a professional industry that creates jobs. Over 20,000 job are supported by meaningful employment through the tourism sector with 2,700 businesses accumulating 9% of provincial jobs. Of those jobs in the province, 2,390 Employees are in the accommodations sector operating fairly under the Tourist Establishments Act. As such, all tourism product providers must operate in the spirit of legitimate competition and abide by all regulatory and licensing requirements in order to operate in the province.
