Welcome!
Hospitality NL is proud to introduce our Culinary Tourism Development Strategy (2025–2027) — a two-year, province-wide initiative designed to help food & beverage businesses and culinary Tourism experience providers, showcase Newfoundland & Labrador’s rich flavours, grow year-round visitation, and deepen the connection between local food and tourism in every region.
This project is being led by Hospitality NL in partnership with the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation and the regional Destinations Management Organizations (DMO’s). It aligns directly with Vision 2026, which identifies culinary as a priority area for experience development, and aims to strengthen Newfoundland & Labrador’s food story by supporting operators, producers, and communities to create authentic, market-ready culinary experiences.
What We’re Working On
The project will build momentum step by step. Areas of focus include:
• Brand & Storytelling — creating a shared culinary identity rooted in NL’s foodways.
• Market Readiness — developing tools and training to help operators deliver high-quality, bookable culinary experiences.
• Experiences & Events — supporting new opportunities that highlight food and extend the season.
• Digital Presence — improving how culinary stories and operators are found online.
• Collaboration & Leadership — building stronger links between operators, producers, industry partners, and Destination Management Organizations (DMO’s).
Why It Matters
Visitors are increasingly choosing destinations for their food. Culinary tourists spend more, stay longer, and explore more broadly. By working together, we can make Newfoundland & Labrador’s food story a stronger draw while also creating real benefits for local operators and communities.
What to Expect
This is a strategy in progress. We’re starting with research and consultation, and new initiatives will roll out over time. Stay tuned for updates and opportunities to get involved as the project evolves.
