The new French tourism website for Newfoundland and Labrador is online!

St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, June 7th, 2011 – The Réseau de développement économique et d’employabilité de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador (RDÉE TNL) [Newfoundland and Labrador Francophone Economic Development and Employability Network], is proud to announce that the new French tourism website for Newfoundland and Labrador is now online at www.tourismetnl.ca. The website complements the French Tourism Guide 2011-2012 previously released in February 2011. RDÉE TNL invites you to visit the website as soon as possible.

You will find on this website a description for each region, practical information on how to get here and about the province, a calendar of events and interactive tools. The website contains a list of attractions in all regions, suggested itineraries and useful links. All sections are enhanced with beautiful photos of the province. The site also invites visitors to discover the French Islands of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon since they are located only 25 km off Newfoundland coastline.

“This website is a leading tool for Francophone visitors, it will allow us to be even more receptive to new tourism products and to offer relevant information in French at the heart of the tourist news from the province of Newfoundland and Labrador” says Frédérique Weiland, Economic Development Officer of RDÉE TNL.

Ms. Frédérique Weiland and M. Richard Martin will promote the website for the first time at a tourism event in Quebec from June 14th to 17th. The event is organised by the Francophone seniors of Canada and Quebec – Fédération des aînées et aînés francophones du Canada (FAAFC) et la Fédération de l’âge d’or du Québec (FADOQ) – and will promote trips to Newfoundland and Labrador.

The development of this website was made possible thanks to the generous financial support of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Recreation of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), and Comité régional du tourisme de Saint-Pierre et Miquelon.

RDÉE TNL is funded by the Government of Canada’s Enabling Fund for Official Language Minority Communities.
