National priorities and aboriginal tourism development to be highlighted at Hospitality NL’s 2017 Conference & Trade Show

Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador is pleased to have Gudie Hutchings, Member of Parliament for Long Range Mountains (NL) and Parliamentary Secretary for Small Business and Tourism, address delegates at the Annual Conference & Trade Show.

Kicking off the final day of Conference activities, MP Hutchings will bring greetings on behalf of the Federal Department of Small Business and Tourism. MP Hutchings will also introduce and moderate a National Tourism Panel comprised of leaders from three of Canada’s most important national tourism organizations: David Robinson, Destination Canada; Philip Mondor, Tourism HR Canada; and Charlotte Bell, Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC). Each panelist will provide a synopsis of key national initiatives and priorities, followed by a discussion and Q&A to discuss how Newfoundland and Labrador fits into the national picture and how this province can maximize on and support these national efforts.

Hospitality NL is also pleased to welcome Keith Henry, President and CEO of the Aboriginal Tourism Association of Canada to the Conference. This session will focus on educating delegates about indigenous tourism development and marketing in Canada and how that translates here in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Hospitality NL’s 2017 Conference and Trade Show will feature an exciting line-up of sessions and events, a supplier-focused trade show and exclusive learning and networking opportunities for all tourism stakeholders in attendance. In addition to the invaluable connections to be made with fellow tourism operators and leaders, the event features Hospitality NL’s Annual General Meeting, partner Luncheons, local fun night and, of course, the Awards Gala recognizing some of our industry’s most innovative and talented individuals!

Hospitality NL’s Annual Conference and Trade Show is the largest annual gathering of tourism operators within the province and is taking place in Gander, February 21-23, 2017. Visit www.hnl.ca/conference to learn more and register today!
