HNL members top the list of winners at the Canadian e-tourism Awards
The teamwork of HNL members Iceberg Quest Ocean Tours and John Atkins & Company was recently honoured as www.icebergquest.com received two prestigious Canadian e-Tourism Awards in the categories of Best User Generated Content and Best Website.
To be eligible, entries were required to market, sell or portray Canadian destinations, products, attractions, or experiences. Iceberg Quest Ocean Tours, operating out of St. John’s and Twillingate were nominated for their new website which was designed and developed by John Atkins & Company.
In the category of Best User-Generated Content, Iceberg Quest received first place honours beating out two Canadian heavyweights, The Canadian Tourism Commission and Newfoundland and Labrador’s very own, Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism who placed second and third respectively. In the category of Best Website, Iceberg Quest received second place honours between Tourism and Parks New Brunswick and Tourism Vancouver.
Iceberg Quest also received recognition for their website efforts in 2010 winning silver at the international Davey Awards in the tourism category and in 2011 winning the Tourism Atlantic Technology Award from Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency at the 2011 Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador Conference and Trade Show.
The Canadian e-tourism Awards will be presented in Toronto at the Awards Luncheon on March 6, 2012 as part of the Online Revealed Canada Conference taking place from March 5-7, 2012.
