| Humber Valley Resort Launches Charter Service to Deer Lake - October 1, 2004 | Humber Valley Resort today announced the launch of a new charter flight service from Gatwick, England to Deer Lake, Newfoundland. Starting on Wednesday, December 22nd, 2004 until Wednesday, April 6th, 2005 Humber Valley owners and vacationing clients to the Resort will enjoy this weekly, direct flight service with an average flight time of five and one-half hours.
Humber Valley Resort and Barwell Leisure (UK), the Resort’s UK tour operator, organized a test charter flight on this transatlantic route in March 2004. “The March flight was a resounding, sold out success with tremendous cooperation from organizations on both sides of the Atlantic”, commented Brian Dobbin, Humber Valley Resort’s Chief Executive Officer. Following this test flight, Humber Valley Resort and Barwell Leisure established a business relationship to provide regular charter service from Gatwick Airport to Deer Lake Regional Airport for the 2005 winter season in conjunction with Barwell Leisure’s promotion of vacation packages to Humber Valley.
“This regular charter route simplifies the travel to Humber Valley Resort, so that clients can get here and start enjoying Western Newfoundland. From the first day that we started selling properties, the charter flights were consistently promoted as something that would happen down the road. It’s very rewarding for all stakeholders to see this come to fruition,” added Mr. Dobbin.
The December flight will represent the official opening of Humber Valley Resort as it prepares to welcome its first tourism clientele. “Our staff are focused on the December date with great energy and determination,” stated Allen Vansen, Humber Valley Resort Managing Director. “We are encouraged by the response from our clients and the regional business community as we plan for the year ahead. Teamwork will define our success internationally and within the province”. The winter flight service will arrive and depart each Wednesday during the schedule.
Humber Valley Resort, a new four season, international development, is located on the north side of the Humber River and Deer Lake. The Western Newfoundland development features 321 freehold privately owned vacation properties operating in a rental pool. The Resort offers three to six bedroom luxury chalets for traveling clientele, complimented by world-class services and amenities.
To date, 45 chalets are complete with another 80 under construction in 2004. Each chalet is strategically hidden in the forest either abutting the 18-hole championship golf course or cresting a magnificent view. The central club house and beach house restaurants will be opened at Christmas 2004.
Humber Valley Resort is the 2003 Bentley International Homes 5 star “Best Canadian Resort” and the “Best International Resort' award recipient, chosen from over 250 resorts worldwide. For further information, please visit www.humbervalley.com.
