| Tourism Booming at Battle Harbour - August 24, 2004 |
After a slow start, tourism at the Battle Harbour National Historic Site on the coast of Labrador, has really picked up. Gordon Slade from the Battle Harbour National Historic Site says June and July were slow, but after that the number of tourists visiting the area increased quite a bit. Slade says there were a couple of cruise ships in Battle Harbour in recent days. Slade says the strike at Parks Canada has not impacted the Battle Harbour destination so far. He also says the number of national and international visitors to the region continues to grow each year.
