| Central DMO Job Opening - December 8, 2008 | Executive Director
We are the newly formed, just out-of-the-box Destination Marketing Organization for Central Newfoundland, the region spanning from the Baie Verte Peninsula east to Terra Nova National Park and everything wild and wondrous in between.
The Central DMO is driven by tourism operators for tourism operators. Our mandate is to increase non-resident tourist visitations to Central Newfoundland, lengthen stays and create opportunity for our members.
Our Executive Director is a dynamic, marketing-savvy leader with a passion for tourism. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial and results-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and relentless drive. Reporting directly to the Central DMO Board of Directors, the Executive Director:
- Leads the execution of the Central DMO marketing plan
- Fosters productive relationships with members and key stakeholders
- Develops, recommends and operates within an annual budget
- Develops compelling marketing campaigns and promotional collateral
Qualifications:
- Post secondary education with a focus on business administration, marketing or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Experience in travel/tourism marketing or economic development
- Ability to travel extensively locally, domestically and internationally
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint; desktop publishing an asset
Salary: $52,000-63,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
