HNL’s Annual Tourism Awareness Week Luncheon
HNL participates in Tourism Awareness Week by partnering with tourism organizations throughout the province to showcase innovative experiences that are offered in Newfoundland and Labrador and demonstrate how tourism contributes to the economy of Newfoundland and Labrador, its standard of living, and the quality of life of residents.
HNL’s key event during Tourism Awareness Week is the Tourism Awareness Week Luncheon, which provides attendees the opportunity to get together to celebrate the success and growth of the provincial tourism industry. The luncheon will take place June 7 at the Comfort Inn Airport and feature Duncan Bureau, Vice President, Sales, WestJet Airlines / WestJet Vacations as the keynote speaker. As well, HNL will present the Ambassador of Hospitality Award to a deserving individual.
“HNL is delighted that Mr. Bureau will deliver the keynote address at this year’s Tourism Awareness Week Luncheon,” says HNL Chair, John Dicks. “A sustainable transportation network is a key focus of Uncommon Potential: A Vision for Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism and we are eager for Mr. Bureau to share his thoughts on further development of our air transportation system.
“Just this week, HNL released the results of our annual Spring membership survey, which identified Air Access as the number one advocacy issue for 2011,” adds Dicks. “Having been named one of the Top 25 Travel Executives in North America in 2008, Mr. Bureau’s perspective, experience and expertise will undoubtedly give the tourism industry great insight into the competitive air transportation industry and how Newfoundland and Labrador can achieve its goals for building a sustainable transportation system. The timing of his address could not be better.”
