Shirley Montague - Director - Trails Tales & Tunes Festival
Norris Point/Gros Morne National Park
Shirley Montague has come to call herself a general practitioner in the Cultural Industry. Having been a part of the cultural fabric of the Province since her early start as a musician at the age of 15, she brings a vast knowledge of the industry to the Trails Tales & Tunes table. With experience as a musician, recording artist, writer, performer, event coordinator and producer, Shirley has a great understanding of cultural presentation and is well connected to all areas of the industry.
Shirley conceived and executed the first TTT festival in 2007 and she continues to steer a strong committee of volunteers who all work to present the best in entertainment and genuine small town hospitality.
In just 7 years, TTT has become one of the most celebrated events in the Province. This is largely due to the diverse offering of arts, culture and heritage, presented under the TTT banner, and the strong on-going partnerships with the community.
Shirley served as a regional director on the MusicNL Board (2002 – 2011); regional director of The Folk Arts Society (2010-2012) and continues to serve on the Board of The Gros Morne Cooperating Association (friends of the Park).
